Discount Home Office Furniture

Author: Josh Riverside

If you work from home and have a dedicated room or office, it makes sense to equip yourself with the best furniture you can afford. Todays designs combine good looks with comfort and practicality, so there is no excuse for clutter, chaos or a bad back.

One of the joys of working from home is that you can plan the style and layout of the office to suit yourself. Choose your own color of filing cabinet, or use boxes and baskets to store papers if you prefer. Give shelf space to objects you enjoy looking at and enliven the walls with favorite paintings and photographs. There is every reason to make your office a place where you enjoy spending time.

Provided it is stable and the right height, any work surface will serve as a desk. The surface should be high enough for you to work at without bending, and deep enough to take a computer and any other equipment you need. The best desks incorporate storage as well as computer space. Some have a fold- or pull-out keyboard shelf and a pleasing design at the same time. Look out for discounts when buying a desk, because usually there is some sort of discount associated with them.

What you sit on is a different matter, and if you spend hours sitting at a desk, a dining chair simply will not do. A good office chair is the best bet and there are now many designs that look bright and modern, not utilitarian and office-like. Anyone who works from home without the luxury of a dedicated office knows how difficult it can be to combine working and living space. The famous artist Ingrid has achieved just that, creating her dual use space herself, using a limited budget and lot of imagination.
