Dating And Flirting: Interesting Signals

Author: Nikki Smith

If you are currently dating, it is very important that you have a passing understanding of the various signals that both sexes use to convey their interest. Different people use different methods to indicate to do this, but here are some of the most common of flirting signals.

Prolonged eye contact. If eye contact is maintained over more than five seconds at a time, it may be a sign of sexual interest. Prolonged eye contact is not the norm between friends or acquaintances, but it is the rule for lovers. When dating, if you catch someone looking at you for an abnormally long period of time, it may signal that they are very interested! Also, be on the lookout for people who look at you, look away, and look at you yet again. These people might be a bit on the shy side, but they are definitely sending you a message.

Touching. When flirting, it is very common for men and women to touch each other. This does not necessarily mean a sexual touch; it may just be a playful shove on the shoulder or the ruffling of her. Whatever the case, people use touch to signify attraction and sexual interest. Even friends may use touch to flirt with each other once in a while. If your date always seems to be touching you, she may be giving you the green light to go further.

These flirting signals are all things to look out for when dating. While not ironclad, they are useful guides to finding out if your date is really into you or not.
