Movie Clips

Author: Steve Valentino

A movie clip is a sequence of captured motion or a part of a longer video. The best examples of a movie clip are trailers or promos of a movie and the small videos that we capture on our recording devices. The former (movie trailer) is, in fact, an amalgamation of a number of movie clips. These different clips are joined together to produce a trailer.

The market today offers a wide range of devices to capture short clips. Cell phones with video capturing capabilities and handy cams are some of the latest and most popular means. The videos captured using these devices can be edited and split further into smaller clips on most computers, using pre-loaded video editing applications. These clips can then be saved in a number of formats such AVI, MOV and MPEG. The most preferred format for viewing movie clips on a cellular phone is 3gp.

With the advent of mobile viewing platforms such as cellular phones with video capabilities, Apple video iPods and laptop computers, movie clips have become extremely popular today. Movie clips of different kinds, be it a movie trailer or the preview of a new music video, are available on the Internet.

Movie clips have, to some extent, reduced the need for still photographs, as with the advent of latest technology, movie recording options are available in most cellular phones and digital cameras. By consuming a little more memory compared to a still photograph, it is now possible to store memories in the form of a video. The quality of a video or movie clip captured depends on the recording devices resolution; devices of a higher mega pixel resolution provide better quality video clips.
